GOVERNANCE MODELS OF PORT AUTHORITIES IN BALTIC STATES
Introduction. Baltic ports have witnessed relatively stable growth patterns within last decades and have not been affected dramatically as major world hub ports after economic crises. Nevertheless, today port authorities need to pay extra attention to risk management, potential development project assessments and governance structure, to avoid cargo shifts between ports and counteract fierce competition patterns. This research delivers evaluation of current port authorities governance models in Baltic’s and value whether Baltic`s major seaports are responding to market trends and strategic initiatives.
Aim of the study. Aim of the research is to evaluate Baltic major ports authorities, analyse existing systems, identify key challenges and propose possible solutions for sustainable port authority’s governance.
